Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital to Offer Saturday Sports Injury Clinics

SUGAR LAND (September20, 2017)

Local student athletes in Fort Bend County will be able to see a doctor after their Friday night football game or Saturday soccer game, courtesy of the Sports Medicine Outreach Program at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital. Beginning Saturday, Sept. 23, two Saturday sports injury clinics will take place on the campus of Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. Patients can visit the orthopedic injury clinic or the head injury and concussion clinic.

“For many of our young athletes it’s difficult to get to the doctor during the week when they’re in school,” says Rehal Bhojani, M.D., Medical Director of the Sports Medicine Outreach Program at Memorial Hermann Sugar Land. “Our Saturday morning clinics will allow athletes to receive timely, high quality care so when it’s time to go back to school on Monday their treatment plan is already in place.”

The Saturday Sports Injury Clinics will run from Sept. 23 through Nov. 18 from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Patients can simply walk-in to the clinics or schedule an appointment.

Both clinics will offer full diagnostic and treatment services including X-rays, splints, supports, casting and crutches. The clinics will be staffed by physicians who specialize in orthopedic medicine, concussions and head injuries, and sports medicine.

Each clinic will have a different focus based on the patient’s needs. The orthopedic injury clinic will be held on the second floor of Medical Plaza 1 in Suite 200. For patients with head injuries or possible concussions, they can visit the clinic located on the first floor of Medical Plaza 1 in Suite 110.

The hospital campus is located at 17500 W Grand Parkway S, Sugar Land, Texas 77479.
