Sports Physical Therapy
After a sports injury or corrective surgery, sports physical therapists and kinesiologists at The Institute develop individualized recovery programs to address a host of orthopedic problems including those affecting the shoulder, back, neck, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle or foot.
Sports physical therapy promotes healing, restores range of motion, increases endurance, and helps athletes get back into the game. It combines exercise, strength training, gait training, manual therapy techniques, and education to promote optimum health and maximize function.
The Institute offers a complete range of rehab services, with a strong emphasis on orthopedics, including:
- McKenzie method to reduce pain and restore function
- Aquatic therapy
- Isokinetic therapy
- Rehab for knee ligament reconstruction
- Postoperative therapy for total joint replacement
- Sport-specific rehab and performance improvement
- Physical therapy for soft-tissue sports injuries
